Soup and muffin lunch - 22 August
The date of the soup and muffin lunch has changed - it will now be held on Sunday, 22 August.Golden Valley Awards Results
Congratulations to our club members Abbey, Bob, Mckenzie, and Brenda, who were over in Takaka recently at the Golden Valley Awards hosted by the Marble Mountain Country Music Club.
Abbey had a particularly good weekend, leaving as the overall winner of the junior section!
The finals placings of our club members are:
- Abbey Hahn: Junior Overall Winner, 1st Junior Open, 1st Junior Gospel, 3rd Instrumental Open, H/C Traditional Under-18
- Bob Young: 2nd Male Open, 2nd Male Gospel, H/C Veteran Over-55
- Mckenzie Lightwood: 1st Rock & Roll 16-and-Under, H/C Intermediate Open, H/C Intermediate Gospel, Best Dressed Junior/Intermediate Female
- Brenda Fitzwater: Best Dressed Female
Eve
Waimea Music Club Sponsors Eve
The Waimea Music Club is now sponsoring another guide dog hopeful, Eve, at the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB).
Eve's a Yellow Labrador puppy, and she's currently with her puppy walking family learning the basics. She loves tearing about having fun, as well as taking naps, and her favourite toy is a red Teletubbie! She also loves finding socks to chew on. You can find her at the RNZFB's Top of the Pups website.
And good luck to Gretel, who's now progressed to Guide Dog Services for her assessment - the next step to becoming a fully-fleged guide dog. Keep up the good work!
